Experience Matters
SMB Navigator was founded in 2014 by Scott Leach, CPA, CEPA, CVGA, but the experience behind the firm began decades earlier.
Scott's career took him from working as a welder in the West Texas oil fields while paying his way through college to financial and operational leadership in large organizations, including serving as CFO of a multi-billion-dollar division of a Fortune 500 company.
Some of Scott's most valuable lessons came after leaving the corporate world to become a small business owner himself. He purchased a construction company, experienced firsthand the challenges of owning and growing a small business, and eventually sold it.
That experience changed his perspective. He understood what it's like when the numbers, employees, customers, cash flow, and future of the business are ultimately your responsibility.
Those experiences led to SMB Navigator and a belief that still guides us today:
